Originating in 1780 Swiss clockmakers invented mechanical birds that bobbed and turned realistically while singing authentic bird songs. To this day, the Reuge of Switzerland music company continues to manufacture these mechanical marvels just the way they were made two centuries ago, each bird painstakingly feathered by hand. A real find for the collector, these two little songbirds flutter and sing inside their traditional ornamented brass cage lined in navy velvet. 12 in H x 6-3/8 in D.
